Statement of faith
Beracah International Theological Seminary affirms historic Christian orthodoxy. This orthodoxy is revealed in the Holy Scriptures and confessed by the Church throughout the ages. We believe that the sixty-six canonical books of the Old and New Testaments, as originally written, were inspired by God. Therefore, they are wholly true and without error. Scripture is the final and infallible authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
We believe in one true and living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all. God is infinite in being and perfection. He exists eternally as one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in power, glory, and essence.
We affirm that humanity was created in the image of God and originally lived in innocence. However, through disobedience prompted by Satan, humanity fell from this sinless state into sin and spiritual death. As a result, this fall brought separation from God and the sentence of eternal death upon the human race. From this condition, humanity can be redeemed only by God's grace through faith. This redemption is based on the saving work of Jesus Christ and the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the eternally pre-existent Son of God became incarnate. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. In Jesus Christ, the divine and human natures are united in one Person, fully and perfectly, without confusion or division. To accomplish salvation, He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitute for sinners. He shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins. On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead. He then ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, where He continues His ministry of intercession. He will return personally and visibly to complete His saving work and fulfill God's eternal redemptive purposes.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. He applies the work of Christ to the lives of believers. Through His work, sinners are convicted, regenerated, justified, and adopted into the family of God. Through sanctification, believers are progressively transformed into Christ's likeness. Through glorification, they will be fully renewed in God's presence.
We believe that everyone who responds to God in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is called to live a life of obedience, holiness, and spiritual fruitfulness. Believers are accountable to God for their conduct. They are called to participate in the mission of the Church by bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed, locally and globally.
We believe that at the end of the age, the dead will be raised bodily. Those who belong to Christ will enter into eternal life and joy in God's presence. Those who reject God's grace will experience eternal separation from Him.
